As a New Jersey print shop we’re proud to have customers from all over the New York Metropolitan area and as far away as Russia! But, we also realize the importance of being active members of our local communities here in New Providence and Summit, New Jersey. We’re Rotarians, members of the Chamber of Commerce and most of us live near our office so we’re aware of town events and fundraisers.
Driving to work recently we saw a banner for New Providence’s annual P.B.A. Toys for Tots drive. So, as we decorate our office for the holiday season, we’re also setting up a box for toy donations! (The toys can be brought to the New Providence Police Department front lobby, 360 Elkwood Ave., through Dec. 14.)
Currently our Rotary Club of Summit-New Providence, along with Bridges Outreach, is holding a coat drive for local children in need. We put our names in for a boy and a girl and in two weeks one of our employees will volunteering at a party at the Summit Community Center where the kids will receive their new coats. Realizing there are families right in our backyard really touched us and we’re happy we can contribute to this important cause.
And the season wouldn’t be complete without the Suburban Chamber of Commerce and the Summit Downtown Organization‘s annual Holiday Kickoff Weekend! It’s this weekend – Friday night, December 4th and Saturday afternoon, December 5th.
Friday evening features the tree lighting ceremony, luminary lit sidewalks, stores open till 8 pm, Yuletide Carolers, pizza and activities at the YMCA and special menus at the downtown restaurants. Saturday Santa and his elves will walk through downtown starting at 1:30 pm, arts and crafts are at the Summit Promenade and also free horse and wagon rides from 2-4 pm!
If you do attend the festivities this weekend, keep a look out for an Accent Printing employee passing out pamphlets or even assisting our local ice sculptor Jimmy from Artistic Creations!
